Today marks Webster's third birthday, and to celebrate I've gathered some of the tons of photos that I have of him and set them to music. As you will see, Webster has demonstrated a great deal of patience having had a camera shoved in his face most of the days of his life. There is even a chapter about having fun at Webster's expense, dressing him up in costumes against his will for which, I know at some future point, there will be hell to pay. But don't feel bad for Webster because right now he's sacked out on the armchair after a full day of having fun: a car ride, a visit to the Buddhist center, digging in the garbage and having consumed a… Read More
The Dog Gives Thanks
Thursday, November 27th, 2008
For Thanksgiving day leftovers, morning hugs, a warm place to sleep and the love of the family that surrounds him. Simple. There are many who will not be given these simple joys. I hope those of us who have them will share with those who do not. Simple. Happy thanks and giving to all. Read More
The Dog Goes for a Walk … Sort Of
Wednesday, November 26th, 2008
Carrying on the theme of the week: Webster, since this week he turns 3 (or maybe 21 in dog years). As a picture is worth a thousand words, these few should be worth plenty. So much so that additional commentary really isn't required. I will set the stage by saying that we started our beautiful Saturday morning walk at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park which is about 5 minutes from where we live. Some of us walked more than others.

As Puppy Sleeps
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
You sleep, so gently, peacefully blissfully unaware of the dramas that surround you. Of what do you dream? Such innocence! There are moments, I feel as if I love you too much my heart aches when I think about your precious, little life so short. No matter how long you stay with me it will never be long enough there will never be enough time enough… Read More
Leisure Sundays
Sunday, November 9th, 2008
I love our kickback Sunday morning ritual of going out to breakfast, reading, going out to breakfast, taking a leisurely stroll and pretty much doing nothing, except going out to breakfast (I LOVE going out to breakfast, although I'm sure you figured that out pretty quickly). Saturday’s… Read More

This morning I awoke with a migraine. Six aspirin and a flax compress later, I am finally able to sit up without feeling like I want someone to shoot me.
Still, everything seems rather blurry.

Happy Freakin’ Halloween from the Dog
Friday, October 31st, 2008The Day I humiliated my Dog
Thursday, October 30th, 2008
Errands, we all have to run them, like it or not. I like them not, but having Webster along for the ride does make these side trips more enjoyable. And any opportunity Webster has to go for a ride in the car, no matter where the destination (excluding the vet's office, of course), he's ready, willing and standing at the front door. Today's destination: PetSmart. We… Read More
Someone’s Getting Chubby
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
Webster loves to eat. Whenever there is food, there he is, under foot, patiently waiting, sometimes stooping to whatever cheap tactics will make him look utterly adorable so that you'll be charmed into bending over to give him a morsel of whatever it is that you're eating. Never mind that such tactics have worked often enough… Read More
