The Day I humiliated my Dog

Thursday, October 30th, 2008
Errands, we all have to run them, like it or not. I like them not, but having Webster along for the ride does make these side trips more enjoyable. And any opportunity Webster has to go for a ride in the car, no matter where the destination (excluding the vet's office, of course), he's ready, willing and standing at the front door. Today's destination: PetSmart. We… Read More

October 28th, or The Day That I Blew it!

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008
I had been working 16+ hour shifts on a special project for the previous company in which I worked as a program manager.  Literally, I was working pretty much every waking hour, many days from home, where I rolled out of bed at 6:00 am worked all day and rolled… Read More

The Pumpkin Patch

Monday, October 27th, 2008
October is one of my favorite months! And with October comes Halloween. And as silly as it sounds, I LOVE Halloween. Even though it's been a couple of years since I've dressed up into some alter ego costume, I still love all the hoopla.  Sometimes, I'll head over to a friend's house where I know there will be lots of little trick-or-treaters (they… Read More

Barack Obama: Change We Need

Friday, October 24th, 2008
Barack Obama inspires me. And it's been a very long time since I have been inspired by a politician. But Barack Obama is no ordinary politician. He is a leader. Finally, we have a leader.  How long has it been, I ask you, since we have seen and felt real leadership in this country? I don't know about you, but I feel like we Americans have forgotten what it is like… Read More

My Favorite Things: The Architect’s Bird Feeder

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008
Very clever, is this bird feeder that requires no tools to put it together!  I love the elegant look.  I have to chuckle when I think about my Stellar's Jays and how they might finally meet their match in NOT being able to rob the feeder of all the seeds. To order, see: http://www.architectsbirdfeeder.com/ Read More

John McCain & Sarah Palin: Has the Campaign Trail Been Littered?

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
How much can you respect politicians when the campaign trail gets dirty? The GOP is looking desperate to win the presidential election, given their recent publicity tactics. I must admit that I am truly horrified and disgusted that the GOP would dredge up the pain and fear that Americans suffered during the 9/11 attacks for their own gain. It is, quite simply, inexcusable. The GOP approved flyers, listed below, were sent to families in Missouri and Virginia. They painfully outline the horrors of 9/11 and all but call Obama a terrorist. Has this campaign trail been littered? How fair is it to imply that Barack Obama, is a strange man who might… Read More

An Inspirational Read

Monday, October 20th, 2008
I was very touched by this story, so much so, that I became chocked up while reading it. It's a sweet read.
The Cab Ride I'll Never Forget by Ken Nerburn
For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular… Read More
