Through the Ashes We Give Thanks …

Monday, August 17th, 2009

We stood there at the company bus stop, gazing back over the mountains and dense clouds of smoke. Another fire. This one centered around the Lockheed plant in Bonny Doon, CA., hence it was coined the “Lockheed Fire.” The fire had started Wednesday evening around 7:30 PM, but none of us really knew until Thursday morning… Read More

Microsoft: They Scare the Bing out of Me!

Saturday, August 8th, 2009
As if their Songsmith and housewife puking ads weren't enough bad advertising, Microsoft has, once again, tried to be hip. And, once again, they've failed. I make no bones about the fact that I dislike 99.9% of Microsoft products, but I'd be willing to give them a high-five now and then for a good advertising campaign. Two weeks or so ago, Microsoft announced they'd hold a Bing Jingle contest, the goal being to record a short music video theme song about their new search engine, called Bing. Below the winner sings, "Bing goes the… Read More

The Election and Five Year Olds

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Yesterday afternoon, I received an email from a friend of mine that read:
" Donna, my 5 year old, runs in the house all excited with a "I Voted" sticker on her shirt. She said: " Mom, I voted today in my class and I voted for Obama... 15 kids in our class voted for Obama, only 4 said they want John McCain!!!!" Isn't that amazing?  Let's keep our… Read More

Protecting Your Vote on Election Day

Monday, November 3rd, 2008
Tomorrow is election day, and one of the MOST IMPORTANT elections we've ever had.  Finally!  I think most of us are more than ready for it to be over. I'm a nervous wreck already and I have that nervous pit in the stomach feeling that I get when I'm waiting at the dentist's office (which is why I don't go to the dentist nearly often enough).  So the big thing on my mind… Read More

John McCain & Sarah Palin: Has the Campaign Trail Been Littered?

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
How much can you respect politicians when the campaign trail gets dirty? The GOP is looking desperate to win the presidential election, given their recent publicity tactics. I must admit that I am truly horrified and disgusted that the GOP would dredge up the pain and fear that Americans suffered during the 9/11 attacks for their own gain. It is, quite simply, inexcusable. The GOP approved flyers, listed below, were sent to families in Missouri and Virginia. They painfully outline the horrors of 9/11 and all but call Obama a terrorist. Has this campaign trail been littered? How fair is it to imply that Barack Obama, is a strange man who might… Read More

The Multiple Personalities of John McCain: Which One is he Tonight?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008
I'm watching the Presidential Debate tonight and I've learned some very interesting things about John McCain. Here is what stands out for me:
1. John McCain can lie without blinking an eye (oh .. wait ... never mind the blinking part).
2. John McCain can't seem to… Read More

The Palin – Biden Debate: Drill Baby Drill

Here are my first, initial thoughts about the Vice Presidential debate (of course there are many more where those came from) ... Aside from the fact that I cannot seem to get the theme song from, Read More

Sarah Palin: “Project Dimwhit”

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008
It now seems that John McCain is required to come to Palin's defense because the VP candidate can't seem to say exactly what she means and can't seem to erase whatever she's already said.  And every time McCain comes to Palin's defense he looks dumber and dumber. Could she be rubbing off on him?

Loyal readers, I apologize that, once again, I am posting something political. This was unplanned. This is not a political blog, nor do I want it to be.  I promise to return to "regularly scheduled programming" soon.

"Thank you" to the reader (whom wishes to remain anonymous)… Read More
