Dancing Down the Isle

Sunday, July 26th, 2009
I'm contemplating showing up for work, everyday, dancing my way to my office, inspired by "JK's Wedding Entrance Dance" shown below. I love this video! Read More

A Thankful 4th of July

Sunday, July 5th, 2009
Yesterday, the temperature soared up around 103 degrees and just like flowers without water, we wilted. Admittedly I'm a wimp when it comes to both heat and cold. I prefer the coolness of the 70s and at one point during the day I had to evaluate whether I disliked the heat worse than shopping malls with plenty of air conditioning. Even though we do have a pool filled with water, it was still too hot… Read More

Alive and Well …

Saturday, June 27th, 2009
How do I jump back in after such a long absence? Oh, how I've missed writing blog posts, reading my favorite blogs, Twittering and all my Internet pals!  I wonder -- after such a long moratorium I-- whether I'll be able to compose a post at all.  It feels like the only writing I've done lately is at work via email. So now that we all know what I haven't been doing, what HAVE I been doing?   For starers, I've been working A LOT, but I can't complain because I'm really lovin' it (most days). I am grateful that I not only have a job, but I have a job that I enjoy. We're heading toward the finish line with some pretty large projects and our hours… Read More

Booksetting … What Would You Spell?

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008
With all the books in our book cases, perhaps I should be a bit more creative in actually using my books as art. While my books my not be nearly as colorful as those in the photo below, I'm certain I could spell out a word or two. Book, for example. How would it look if people walked in and saw the word "book" spelled with books on our book shelves?  But maybe I should think bigger, maybe a word such as, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.   What would you spell? Glitter on my Nose

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Yesterday I met a friend, her friends, and her mom, for brunch to celebrate her birthday. It was a beautiful day in Santa Cruz; warm enough to be spring instead of fall, heading towards winter. There we were sitting at the table, six women, of various ages and points in our lives and careers. We laughed and talked about everything ranging from writing… Read More

I Spy (Part 2)

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

If you think that I’ve gone crazy, remember that I didn’t have far to go. If, on the other hand, you guessed that I was geocaching, you are also right (although you still may think that I’m crazy and I would, for the most part, agree with you).

Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is both a fun sport… Read More

I Spy (Part 1)

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

I am on my hands and knees, crawling my way through bushes and behind a hedge. My timing is unfortunate having gotten here during the lunch hour, as both the Fed-X guy and the mailman are eating their lunch on this beautiful day at the harbor in Santa Cruz, California. After stalling as long as I can, it doesn’t appear that… Read More

NaBloPoMo

Saturday, November 1st, 2008
No, this isn't a foreign language, although, right now, the concept feels a bit foreign to me. NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month. In a nutshell, it's an invitation to post every day for an entire month, including weekends. That's the foreign part.… Read More

The Pumpkin Patch

Monday, October 27th, 2008
October is one of my favorite months! And with October comes Halloween. And as silly as it sounds, I LOVE Halloween. Even though it's been a couple of years since I've dressed up into some alter ego costume, I still love all the hoopla.  Sometimes, I'll head over to a friend's house where I know there will be lots of little trick-or-treaters (they… Read More
